Kansas State RB Dylan Edwards done for rest of 2025 season, expected to redshirt

Kansas State running back Dylan Edwards is done for the rest of the season, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. He will redshirt as a result.
Edwards has played in four games this season, which is the threshold for a redshirt. On3 previously reported the option was still on the table after he missed the victory over Kansas in Week 9 due to an ankle injury.
Edwards took 34 carries for 205 yards and two touchdowns to start the 2025 season. He was in his second year at K-State after transferring from Colorado, where he spent his freshman campaign in 2023.
Upon his arrival in Manhattan last year, Edwards took 74 carries for 546 yards and five touchdowns. He also played a role in the passing game, hauling in 19 receptions for 133 yards and two touchdowns in the air. That came after he led Colorado with 321 rushing yards and a touchdown in 2023 while also showing his skills as a pass-catcher with 36 receptions for 99 yards and four touchdowns.
In this year’s season opener in Dublin, Edwards injured his ankle early in the matchup against Iowa State. He did not return, and K-State coach Chris Klieman told reporters X-rays came back negative. Edwards then returned against Arizona and later turned in his biggest game of the year against UCF. He had 166 rushing yards and a touchdown in Kansas State’s 34-20 victory over the Knights.

Ahead of the Wildcats’ loss to Texas Tech, Klieman confirmed Dylan Edwards was still dealing with a lower body injury. He said more imaging would be necessary, and the staff wasn’t going to play him if he’s not back to full strength.
“There’s something going on with the lower extremity that we continue to do imaging on,” Klieman said Oct. 27, via the Topeka Capital-Journal’s Wyatt Wheeler. “The imaging we’ve received (last week) says that it wasn’t healed. If it’s not healed, he is not gonna play. We’re not gonna put him out there.”
With last week’s loss to Texas Tech, Kansas State is now 4-5 on the year heading into a Week 11 bye. The Wildcats will start their final three-game stretch next week when they head to Oklahoma State.
