Le'Veon Moss injury update: Texas A&M at Arkansas Friday availability report revealed

On Saturday, No. 4 Texas A&M and Arkansas will square off at 3:30 p.m. ET in Fayetteville. The undefeated Aggies, who are 6-0 for the first time since 2016, are coming off a dominant 34-17 home victory against Florida. The Razorbacks however narrowly fell to No. 12 Tennessee 34-31 in Knoxville and have now dropped four consecutive games.

These programs met last season and have met every season since 2009, which marked the first meeting between the two teams since 1991. No. 24 Texas A&M held off Arkansas 24-21 in AT&T Stadium thanks to 163 passing yards and two touchdowns from quarterback Marcel Reed.

This season’s meeting will mark the first game in Fayetteville since 2013. 10 of the last 11 games between the two programs have taken place at AT&T Stadium, except the 2020 game, which took place in College Station.

Unfortunately, neither the Razorbacks nor the Aggies are expected to be at full-strength for their meeting on Saturday. For each team’s latest availability report, look below.

No. 4 Texas A&M Aggies:

Texas A&M is experiencing its best season in almost a decade under second-year head coach Mike Elko. The Aggies are 3-0 in SEC play (although all three wins have come against unranked opponents), winning those games by an average of 15 points per game. Their premier victory came back on Sept. 13, when they held off No. 8 Notre Dame 41-40 in South Bend.

Sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed has completed 60% of his passes for 1,490 yards, 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. He’s found four different receivers for a touchdown this season and has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the SEC.

Senior running back Le’Veon Moss has also been extremely strong this season, but suffered an ankle injury in the win over the Gators. He is expected to miss “a significant amount of time” and will not suit up on Saturday against the Razorbacks.

“It is what it is,” Elko said following the win. “I love Le’Veon. Hopeful he’s OK, but we have to be able to play. That’s SEC football.” Through six games this season, Moss has rushed for 389 yards on 70 carries. He’s also found the end zone on six different occasions.

Meanwhile, Arkansas fell just short of its second consecutive upset victory over Tennessee in the first game of the (second) Bobby Petrino era. It was certainly a strong effort for the Hogs, which totaled 496 offensive yards. They however once again struggled defensively, giving up 400-plus yards for the fourth consecutive game.
