LSU QB Colin Hurley expected to enter transfer portal
LSU quarterback Colin Hurley is expected to enter the transfer portal, sources tell On3. The Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy product is a former four-star recruit who was the No. 23 quarterback in the nation in the 2024 cycle.
Hurley reclassified from 2025 to 2024 during his recruitment and enrolled at LSU at only 16 years old. He was a two-time state champion during his high school career and threw for over 5,000 yards in his high school career.
The former Elite 11 finalist was a U.S. Army All-American and will have four years of eligibility remaining. He’s repped by Brian Davis of Power Up Sports. Colin Hurley is a 6-foot, 213-pound quarterback who drew interest from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and a handful of others during the recruiting process.

He was recruited heavily to LSU by Brian Kelly. Michael Van Buren is now LSU’s lone scholarship quarterback heading into the 2026 season. LSU did not sign a quarterback from the high school ranks for a second consecutive cycle. The last quarterback it signed out of high school was Hurley.
The transfer portal officially opens for business on Jan. 2, but players are announcing their intention to fire enter free agency.
