LSU transfer Brandon Murray commits to Georgetown
LSU transfer Brandon Murray has committed to Georgetown, he tells On3.
“I picked Georgetown because it’s home,” Murray explained. “It’s a program that has a lot of potential and needs to be turned around. The relationship with Coach Nickelberry was a big reason as well. He’s someone that I trust with my life so I know he’s got me. Coach Pat (Ewing) and I have a good relationship and I trust him to turn Georgetown back to what it was.”
The 6-foot-5 forward averaged 10 points, three rebounds, and nearly two assists per game as a freshman for the Tigers.

Murray, a Baltimore native, chose the Hoyas over Tennessee and Illinois.
With Georgetown losing their two leading scorers — Aminu Mohammed to the NBA draft and Donald Carey to graduation — Murray will have a huge role for Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas next season; a team that finished winless in the Big East.
Coming out of high school, Murray was ranked as a four-star recruit and 89th nationally. He chose the LSU Tigers over Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, and others.
