Miami expected to hire Cincinnati's Derek Nicholson as linebackers coach
Miami is expected to hire Cincinnati’s Derek Nicholson as a linebackers coach, sources tell On3.
Nicholson, a former standout linebacker at Florida State, will be the replacement for Charlie Strong, who recently left the Hurricanes staff.
Nicholson spent the last three seasons as Scott Satterfield’s inside linebackers coach at Louisville before following Satterfield to Cincinnati after Satterfield was hired as the Bearcats’ new head coach in December.
Before Louisville and Cincinnati, Nicholson was co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Southern Miss.
As a player at Florida State, Nicholson led the Seminoles in tackles in 2007 and ‘08.
