Michigan State LB Marcellius Pulliam will be entering his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. That comes per the latest reporting by On3’s Pete Nakos on Monday afternoon.

Pulliam just finished his junior year in what was his second season with Michigan State. That’s following his transfer after his freshman year which he spent at Miami. That, in total, has him at 26 appearances made for the Hurricanes and then the Spartans, with 16 of those being while in East Lansing.

In that collegiate career to this point, Pulliam has posted 13 tackles overall as well as one interception, with that pick coming while he was at The ‘U. A dozen of the tackles, though, including eight this season despite playing in just four games this fall, have been had while on the defense for Sparty.

A native of Tyrone, Georgia, Pulliam played his high school football at Sandy Creek. He ranked as a Top-700 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle. He also rated as a Top-75 LB in the class and as a Top-70 player out of the state of Georgia. That’s according to Rivals’ Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’d go on to commit to Miami, and come in as one of 25 signees who were part of what was the No. 8 recruiting class in the country in per Rivals’ 2023 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Now, two offseasons after being one of the better available linebackers in the NCAA Transfer Portal in 2024, Pulliam will be putting his name back in for the cycle in 2026. That’s amidst the roster changes being made this offseason at Michigan State, with the coaching change they’re undergoing from Jonathan Smith to Pat Fitzgerald. It has resulted in quite a few departures already, including some very notable ones to this point, and could lead to a few more to still come for the Spartans.

Pulliam remained a depth piece at linebacker in the second stop of his college career with MSU. He’ll now be looking for a third program to spend his final season of eligibility at once his name is officially in the portal at the opening of this cycle’s window on January 2nd.
