Michigan wide receiver Fredrick Moore is expected to redshirt and enter the transfer portal, a source tells On3. News broke last week that the junior was no longer with the Michigan program.

Moore logged only 18 snaps at wide receiver this season and will redshirt. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at his next destination.

Moore played in 30 games in his career with three starts at wide receiver, headlined by a start in the team’s 16-13 win over Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl last season, catching his first career touchdown with three catches for 37 yards, along with two rushes for 8 yards. He had 15 catches for 160 yards and a touchdown in his three seasons.

Coming out of high school in St. Louis, Missouri, Fredrick Moore was a three-star recruit and the No. 556 overall player in the 2023 class, ranking No. 82 at wide receiver according to the Rival Industry Ranking.

“Fred’s thing now is, you’re not a freshman,” wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy said in August of Moore. “You played as a sophomore, and we’re counting on you.

“You’re an older guy, and the word we’re chasing for him daily is ‘confidence.’ The more confident he is, the better player he is — and he came into camp super confident.”

However, Moore was unable to have the breakout season he had expected in 2025. The wide receiver is now redshirting the remainder of the season and preparing for the 2026 season at a new destination. Because the college football transfer portal is being cut down to only 10 or 15 days this year, Moore will get a head start in getting his name out there for programs to learn about the wide receiver.
