New Jackson State commit Kevin Coleman can do a little bit of everything

Jackson State beat Miami, Florida State, and Oregon for Kevin Coleman, a four-star wide receiver that ranks No. 71 in the On3 Consensus.
The star athlete out of St. Louis St. Mary’s moves to Mississippi next week and he will be ready to make plays for Deion Sanders.
“Kevin is a very exciting player that can do a little bit of everything,” St. Mary’s head coach Ken Turner told On3. “He is a fierce competitor that works hard, and he has all the tools. Kevin will be ready to do big things.”
As a senior, coach Turner lined up Coleman all over the field. He started quarterback three games, then he was moved all over the field from quarterback, running back, and wide receiver.
“When you have a player like Kevin, you just want to get the ball in his hands. He is a big-time wide receiver, but as soon as he gets the ball in his hands, he is like a running back.

“Kevin is quick, he is fast, he has vision, and he can stop and go on a dime. Once he gets the ball, he is dangerous.”
Not only is Sanders and his staff getting an athlete with talent, but he will take mental toughness with him.
“There is nobody that will out-work Kevin.” Turner said. “He is the first person on the field and the last person off the field. Regardless of what day of the week it is, Kevin is working to get better.
“He may be catching more balls, working on his route-running, hitting the weight room, or watching film. Kevin is a competitor that wants to be the best.
“He is a special package that coaches will be excited to work with.”
