The NFL has announced the college programs with the most representation among league rosters, with Alabama leading the way for the sixth straight season.

In a press release sent out on Thursday, the NFL took a look into the opening weekend rosters, which boded well for the Crimson Tide.

“For the sixth consecutive season, Alabama had the most or tied for the most players (58) on active NFL Kickoff Weekend rosters, the league announced today,” the NFL wrote. “The Crimson Tide also placed the most active NFL players on season-opening rosters in 2018 (44), 2019 (56), 2020 (53) and 2021 (54), and shared the league lead in 2017 (39).

“LSU (52) and Ohio State (52) ranked tied for second in 2022, followed by Georgia (44).

Additionally, Bryan Fisher of FOX pointed out that Alabama has gone from 39 players to 58 in the league in just five seasons, As you can see, it’s evident the Crimson Tide’s numbers are climbing, with no signs of slowing down.

Moreover, the position group where Alabama has made their biggest dent is at defensive back, leading the way with a whopping 14 players who suited up for the Crimson Tide making an opening weekend roster. Elsewhere, Alabama also had 10 defensive lineman, and six running backs making their names known.

As for the following programs, the NFL pointed out that 50 plus former LSU and Ohio State stars also suited up for NFL squads last weekend. Additionally, Kirby Smart has helped turn Georgia around over recent seasons, and they’re up and coming with 44 former Bulldogs in the league.

Still, Nick Saban and Alabama rein supreme over the rest of the college football world as it pertains to sending players to the NFL, and that’s not expected to change anytime soon.
