On3 Consensus 4-star WR Shazz Preston commits to Alabama

Saint James, La., four-star wide receiver Shazz Preston announced Wednesday during national signing day his commitment to Alabama.

Preston is the No. 39 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Shazz Preston also ranks as the No. 3 receiver and third-best player in Louisiana, per the On3 Consensus. On3 ranks Preston slightly lower. He is the No. 143 player in the country and No. 21 receiver, according to On3.

Shazz Preston chose the Crimson Tide. over LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and a long list of other programs.

Shazz Preston also plays basketball and competes in track and field at St. James. He ran a 22.30-second 200-meter time as a junior and long jumped 20 feet, 3 inches as a sophomore.

His brother, Shawn Preston, is a safety at Mississippi State.
