On300 CB Jaziel Hart sets commitment date

Roanoke (Va.) North Cross four-star cornerback Jaziel Hart is ready to announce his college decision.
On Monday, the 6-foot, 170-pounder announced that he will reveal his commitment this Thursday, May 22. His finalists are Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
“These schools make me feel like I can develop and become the face of one of them one day,” Hart told On3’s Chad Simmons. “The time has come quicker than we thought.”
“This makes it the right time to commit because it’ll allow me to have a set school for the summer and season knowing I have a home that I am committed too,” he added.
Hart is the No. 443 overall prospect and No. 39 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Virginia.
Penn State currently has the momentum for Hart in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Nittany Lions have long been a top contender for the Old Dominion standout and he returned to Happy Valley at the end of April.

“Penn State and Michigan are at the top right now,” Hart recently told On3’s EJ Holland. “They’ve shown intense and consistent loyalty to me. They’ve shown consistent love and hospitality every time I go (for visits).”
Hart has an official visit schedule lined up for next month with Virginia Tech, PSU, Tennessee and Michigan, but he’ll now come off the board before those trips arrive.
“I’m basing my decision off of the comfortability and potential I have when I step foot into a facility,” Hart said.
A two-way star at the high school level, Hart caught 23 passes for 431 yards and seven touchdowns, ran for 89 yards and a score and also tallied 54 total tackles and six interceptions as a junior in 2024, according to MaxPreps. North Cross won nine games a season ago and finished as the No. 41 team in Virginia, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.
