The midseason watch list for the USBWA Oscar Robertson Trophy is out, highlighting 50 of college basketball’s top players, many vying for the right to win the national player of the year award.

The award has been given annually to the national player of the year since 1958-59, but it was renamed the Oscar Robertson Trophy in 1998, recognizing two-time USBWA Player of the Year Oscar Robertson.

In total, 18 different conferences are represented on the midseason watch list.

It’s worth noting, though, that any player in college basketball is eligible to receive the award, even if he isn’t on the midseason watch list. The USBWA membership will vote on the award at the conclusion of the regular season, with the award winner announced at the 2023 Final Four in Houston.

A more formal presentation will honor the winner at the USBWA Awards Luncheon hosted by the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

The Big 12 led the way on the Oscar Robertson Trophy midseason watch list, with eight players appearing.

You can view all 50 players named to the midseason watch list below.
