Peach State LB Noah LaVallee commits to Florida State

Marietta (Ga.) Walton linebacker Noah LaVallee picked up his first offer on April 6 last year and it was from Florida State. Just over 14 months later, LaVallee commits to Mike Norvell and the Seminoles.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder finished with over 20 offers and he committed to Florida State over Ole Miss right after his official visit to Tallahassee.
“The official visit was huge because I was able to spend time with all the linebacker coaches and the head coach throughout my time on campus,” LaVallee told On3. “Florida State has always been near the top of my recruitment throughout my process, and the official visit was the last thing I needed to make sure that it was right for me and a perfect fit.
“They made it feel very personalized to show how bad they wanted me to be with them. I committed while on the official visit during my meeting with coach Norvell.”

LaVallee breaks down his commitment to Florida State
The relationships started over a year ago. That effort played into this decision.
“They recruited me very hard throughout my whole process,” LaVallee said. “Coach Norvell has come to my high school twice and coach Papuchis also stopped by multiple times. They have made me a priority right from the start, all the way up to my commitment.”
Outside of the way they prioritized him, what else helped the ACC defeat the SEC in this race?
“One of the reasons was that they play great football. I know I will get developed there too. The culture between the players and coaching staff is very strong, so that was key as well. And Florida State is a top academic institution, so I know my future will be set after graduating.”
LaVallee sees a great fit in Tony White‘s scheme too.
“What excites me the most is playing in their 3-3-5 defense, coached by coach White. I’m a great fit in their defense that allows linebackers to play fast and violent. I’m looking forward to making an impact as soon as I step foot on campus.”
