Top uniforms, helmets in Week 3 of college football

Texas A&M is changing up its uniforms for the top-25 road test at Notre Dame on Saturday night. The Aggies are one of multiple programs to release new uniforms and helmets for Week 3 of the college football season.
The Aggies revealed an all-white combo this week, featuring a new-look all-white helmet with a script “Aggies” written across. It’s a white jersey with maroon complements. It’s a new look for Texas A&M, which has not had a huge portfolio of uniforms in recent years.
Here are the rest of the new-look uniforms and helmets of note heading into Week 3 of college football:
Oregon brings back yellow helmet
The Ducks have always leaned into new jerseys thanks to the backing of Nike and Phil Knight. They’ve also spanned outside the traditional color scheme for Oregon, including multiple black and silver looks. But with the Ducks hitting the road for the first time this season, heading to Chicago to play Northwestern, they’re going with the traditional look.
Oregon’s road uniforms heavily feature the primary green and yellow colors to go with the throwback yellow helmet. The yellow-white-yellow combo is an old-school classic.
Utah showcasing throwback logo
Utah’s first two uniforms of the season have heavily featured the interlocking Us. But with the Utes traveling to Wyoming this week, they will have helmets with the circle and feather logo. The popular logo that emerged in the late 1970s was used in the early half of the 2024 season before a switch to the interlocking Us.
They will make a return in Week 3 of the college football season. Utah is pairing the black helmet with the logo with a white-on-red jersey and pants combo to go with a pattern on the sleeves and pants. The Utes are 2-0 to open the season.
Arizona State rocking all-maroon
The Sun Devils are wearing maroon from head-to-toe on Saturday night against Texas State. Dubbed a “Maroon Monsoon,” Arizona State is wearing copper-colored helmets with white pitchforks. Arizona State is coming off a loss at Mississippi State that pushed the Sun Devils out of the AP Top 25.

A week ago, Liberty rocked the all-white uniforms. This week, the Flames are going with the powder blue fit. For the matchup at Bowling Green, Liberty is also wearing white helmets with a script “Flames” written on the side.
Arizona is bringing back a throwback helmet for its Friday night matchup with Kansas State. The Wildcats will wear replica helmets from the 1980s. The white helmets feature an all-red “A” with blue paw prints, a blue face mask and a red, white and blue stripe down the crown of the helmet.
SMU will be wearing an all-blue helmet this weekend when it visits Missouri State. The helmets are all blue with a white mustang and no stripes.
Other notable uniforms and helmets this week:
Cal is wearing its gold tops for Minnesota’s visit to Berkley this weekend. It’s a nod to the Marshawn Lynch era uniforms.
