Tuesday Inside Texas Q&A: 11 Days Until Texas Kicks Off in Columbus

Texas is currently working through a mock game week in which the program is replicating the exact same practice schedule it will have to open the season.

There are a number of knowns with this Texas team but also a number of unknowns. This week’s Q&A focused more on the unknowns associated with covering zero-sum football.

The first questions out of the gates were exactly what I’ve been wondering about the last 24 hours: “Still feeling a double digit road W to start the season? Which things from fall camp make you feel more optimistic and which things make you feel pessimistic?”

This touches on a phenomenon that happens this time every year where I start to second guess my beliefs on Texas. What, exactly, am I missing about this team? Am I overconfident? Again, because preseason camp is zero-sum, there are always mysteries going into a season. But I’ll still be picking Texas to win on the road.

Injuries were also a popular topic. IT shared the latest on left tackle Trevor Goosby and others. Goosby might be the second most indispensable player on the team but we expect him to play against the Buckeyes.
