Recap

So the same three teams atop the odds list as last week, except the order changed. After Week 5, Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State had virtually even odds to win it all, each coming in slightly over +200. However, this time around, the Buckeyes dipped below that number to +185, officially making them the favorites at this point in the season.

Now, OSU really hasn’t faced as much adversity as some of the other contenders this season. They rolled through their non-conference slate with wins over Notre Dame, Toledo and Arkansas State. And in three Big Ten games, the Buckeyes beat Wisconsin, Rutgers and Michigan State, who are a collective 1-8 in league play. Ohio State’s first major test is upcoming with a trip to Penn State on Oct. 29.

Alabama dropped a bit after another close call, this time against Texas A&M with their backup quarterback Jalen Milroe. Sure, the Tide have stumbled a bit, but with Bryce Young active, it’s hard not to like this team above the rest.

Meanwhile, Georgia had no trouble with SEC West bottom-feeder Auburn and held firm with the second-best odds while No. 1 and No. 3 swapped spots. The defensing champs are right in the mix.
