Vanderbilt lands commitment from EKU transfer guard George Kimble III

Eastern Kentucky transfer guard George Kimble III has committed to Vanderbilt, he told On3.
The 6-foot-2 sophomore from Tampa, Florida will redshirt for the upcoming 2025-26 season in order to rehab a knee injury. Kimble averaged 18.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game for EKU this season. He shot 38 percent from the field and nearly 35 percent from three. A Second Team All-ASUN pick, Kimble ranked second in the conference in scoring.
Kimble began his college career in the Division II ranks at Eckerd College. He earned Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year honors after averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.8 steas per game.

Kimble is Vanderbilt’s eighth addition from the transfer portal this offseason. He joins TCU transfer PG Frankie Collins, North Carolina transfer PF Jalen Washington, NC State transfer SF Mike James, Washington transfer SF Tyler Harris, Cornerll transfer PF AK Okereke, Jacksonville State transfer C Mason Nicholson, and Oklahoma transfer CG Duke Miles.
In year one of the Mark Byington era, Vanderbilt made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. The Commordores finished ninth in a loaded SEC with an overall record of 20-13.
