Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic four-star quarterback Derek Zammit continues to see his stock rise ahead of his senior campaign. After looking the part during Sunday’s Elite 11 regional event in State College, the Washington commit is now headed to Los Angeles this summer.

Zammit has picked up an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals, where he’ll showcase his skills alongside some of the other top QBs from June 17-19. He’s the ninth QB to pick up an invitation to the illustrious event.

There are few higher honors for prep quarterbacks than being invited to the event, which will celebrate its 26th year in 2025. It bring together 20 of the country’s best quarterbacks for three days, ultimately ending with an MVP and 10 other ‘finalists’ being named.

Zammit committed to Washington this spring

As he continues to emerge as one of the top signal-callers in the nation, Zammit has already taken his name off the board with a commitment to Washington back in April. He pledged to Jedd Fisch and the Huskies over Alabama and Mississippi State.

“It was something special about U Dub,” Zammit told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “I felt at home and I really liked the coaches. It was definitely crazy trying to figure it all out. I feel like I definitely made the right decision and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

To date, Zammit is one of 10 commits in a class that ranks No. 18 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He is the No. 499 overall prospect and No. 29 QB in the cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Zammit is coming off a junior season where passed for 2,582 yards with 35 touchdowns and only four interceptions while completing 68 percent of his passes. He added 560 yards rushing and four additional scores.

Wayne Catholic won 12 games in 2024 and finished as the No. 2 team in New Jersey, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.
