WATCH: Purdue player runs into referee jogging off the field
Being a ref in this Ohio-State-Purdue game has officially turned into a full contact sport. Purdue defensive end DaMarcus Mitchell accidentally ran into a referee who was trying to spot the football in the Ohio State-Purdue game.
Watch below as the ref gets clipped while Mitchell was jogging off the field.
It looks like Mitchell didn’t see the referee at all and he was looking towards the sideline while running off, losing site of where the ref was located. Ouch.
The ref did walk over to the sideline for medical attention, but appears to be fine.
TreVeyon Henderson hits ref in the head with the football
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hit with a football, right? Just ask the referee in the Ohio State vs. Purdue game.
TreVeyon Henderson put Ohio State back on top 14-7 in the first quarter with a three-yard rush. He, naturally, celebrated — and when he tossed the ball away, he accidentally hit the referee in the head.

It was the start of a huge day for Henderson and the Ohio State offense.
Ohio State was up 45-17 at half and the game has been a blowout for much of the contest.
Maurice Clarett: TreVeyon Henderson is ‘going to pass my record’
Henderson already set the single-game record for rushing yards from a freshman, with 277 against Tulsa. Last month, Clarett, who ranks second in Buckeye history in single-season rushing yards, said he believes he is on his way to setting another.
“Yeah…he’s going to pass my record,” Clarett tweeted. “Much success to the youngster!”
Clarett held the freshman record until 2017 when JK Dobbins finished with 1,403 yards. Henderson entered Saturday with 937 rushing yards through 10 games.
The Buckeyes were selected as the No. 4 team in the latest College Football Playoff rankings and have been putting on a show against Purdue. They are absolutely routing the Boilermakers, proving they’re not going to be upset by a Purdue team that just knocked off Michigan State last week.
Ohio State and Purdue are currently facing off on ABC.
