4-star CB Zabien Brown announces top four schools

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star cornerback Zabien Brown announced his top four schools on Sunday. They are Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon and USC.
Brown is the No. 89 overall prospect and No. 10 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 11 player in California.
Of Brown’s finalists, the Trojans have hosted him the most (six times) and most recently on March 5. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, USC is leading for his commitment at 60.5%.
“Coach Donte (Williams) just wanted me to come up and watch a practice,” Brown told Scott Schrader on March 10. “So, I got out there for their first (spring) practice. It was really cool.”
“Coach Donte, that’s my guy,” he added about Williams. “We have a lot in common and I’m trying to learn from everything he has to say. So, I just want to keep building on my relationship with him and the rest of the staff.

“He’s kind of been through everything I’ve been through and helped a lot of guys at my position.”
Brown also spoke about his interest in Alabama and Oregon with On3’s Chad Simmons on Jan. 22.
“The history,” Brown said about what stands out about Alabama. “I know they put out a lot of different guys in different positions, so I know that means they have a strong program. Being a part of a strong program right now, I know that’s something I want to be a part of with my next step and my next level.”
“I liked it a lot,” Brown shared about his January trip to Oregon. “It was cool. They showed a lot of love. Just showing me around, good experience.”
Brown has an On3 NIL Valuation of $111K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
