Arch Manning's On3 NIL Valuation slides following Texas spring game

Arch Manning has quickly become one of the most valued college athletes in the country.
The Texas freshman is the latest from a quarterback dynasty. He is the grandson of Archie, son of Cooper and nephew of Peyton and Eli. The top-ranked prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, he finished his career at New Orleans’ Isidore Newman as the school’s leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns and total yardage.
He’s also just a few months into his college career. Manning enrolled at Texas back in January, joining the Longhorns for spring practice. The talent is obviously there. But in Saturday’s Orange-White game, the difference between the rookie quarterback and a starter was clear. He finished throwing 5 of 13, facing constant pressure from the Texas front seven. Meanwhile, Quinn Ewers was 16 for 23 for 195 yards and a touchdown.
Steve Sarkisian gave Ewers the starting quarterback title in his press conference Saturday. Manning will take the fall to continue to develop. Nobody is ruling him out as a future star – he is still one of the highest-ranked recruits to ever sign with Texas.
But it is clear, however, Manning won’t be starting games immediately this fall which is why his On3 NIL Valuation dropped $362,000 to $3.4 million on Tuesday morning.
His valuation still ranks No. 1 in college football and No. 3 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.
Performance, influence and exposure are three of the primary factors used to create an athlete’s individual Roster Value and Brand Value and ultimately their On3 NIL Valuation. Even if he isn’t playing much this season, Manning still has strong influence and performance scores. Influence is heavily swayed by an athlete’s social media authority, while performance focuses on winning national awards and performing well in big games.
In the case of Manning, his family’s name plays into his influence score. His five-star rating helps his performance score.
What did drop was his exposure score, which takes into account where the player attends school and their position. Because he will either be the second or third-string quarterback come the fall, his valuation won’t benefit the way it would if he was the starter.

Why is Arch Manning so highly valued?
Arch Manning may not have the nod this fall but he probably will in the next year. The Texas fanbase is fully invested in his future, meaning his social media following will continue to climb. As a college freshman, his name recognition is remarkable. It was a similar case on the recruiting trail.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound quarterback has built a strong social media following, which sits at more than 255,000. He’s yet to publicly announce his first NIL deal but there’s little doubt brands want to align with him. He also has the option to partner with his superstar uncles in NIL ventures. Eli and Peyton run Omaha Productions together and the Monday Night Football Manningcast runs multiple times throughout the NFL season.
When the younger Manning arrived on campus, he lost his student ID which turned into a national story. Evidence of the power behind his name.
About On3 NIL Valuation
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future.
The On3 NIL Valuation is publicly available. Performance, Influence, and Exposure ratings along with the athlete’s personal Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index are available only to the athlete in the “Athlete Verified” private dashboard on the On3 Athlete Network.
