Beats by Dre signs nine college football stars to 2025 'Beats Elite' class

Beats by Dre has had a pair of classes for their series called ‘Beats Elite’ during the era of NIL. Now, nine more players in college football have been added to that class with the company’s announcement of their third year’s selections on Tuesday.
Beats by Dre announced that third class for ‘Beats Elite’ this morning, featuring some of the best players in the sport ahead of their upcoming seasons. Alabama WR Ryan Williams, Ohio State S Caleb Downs, Michigan QB Bryce Underwood, Georgia RB Nate Frazier, Texas LB Colin Simmons, Oregon QB Dante Moore, Florida QB DJ Lagway, Oklahoma QB John Mateer and South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers are all part of this year’s class.
“Established in 2023, each Beats Elite class is carefully selected for leadership, character, and a commitment to excellence—both on and off the field,” read the release from Beats by Dre.
This is the third year of the name, image, and likeness promotion run by Beats by Dre. Each class has been highlighted by some of the best players in all of college football in their respective seasons. That includes Downs, the Buckeyes’ safety, who is a two-time selection to ‘Beats Elite’ now after being part of it last year in 2024.
Seven of the most marketable players in collegiate athletics are part of the 2025 Beats Elite class. Sellers and Lagway are tied for the highest On3 NIL Valuations of the group, both coming in at $3.7 million. That puts them at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

Underwood also has a $3 million On3 NIL Valuation, while Mateer and Williams are both at $2.7 million. Downs’ On3 NIL Valuation sits at $2.4 million, and Simmons is $1.5 million – putting them all in the Top 50 of the On3 NIL 100.
The group also includes some of top projected players for the upcoming season on some of the best teams in the sport. Sellers, Lagway, Moore, Mateer, Williams and Underwood are all within the top-dozen in total odds per BetMGM to win the Heisman Trophy.
They’ve all received several preseason recognitions, as well. Williams, Downs, and Simmons were named as AP Preseason All-Americans on Monday while Sellers and Fraziers also received preseason all-conference selections across the SEC and the Big Ten. Their nine programs are then all in the top-dozen in total odds to win the national title in the College Football Playoff, also per BetMGM.
