With his senior season underway at LSUGarrett Nussmeier has landed a notable NIL deal. Friday, Nike announced a partnership with the Tigers quarterback.

Nussmeier is considered one of the country’s top returning quarterbacks this year after passing for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns last season. This season, Nussmeier has led the Tigers to a 2-0 record and a No. 3 ranking. He’s one of the top earners in all of college football, boasting a $4 million On3 NIL Valuation.

Friday’s announcement marks the latest high-profile NIL deal for Nussmeier as he looks to take another leap forward at LSU. He joins a prolific group of college athletes partnered with Nike, including Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams and Penn State quarterback Drew Allar.

At $4 million, Nussmeier’s On3 NIL Valuation ranks among the top in college sports. He sits at No. 4 in the college football NIL rankings (behind TexasArch Manning, Miami‘s Carson Beck and Ohio State‘s Jeremiah Smith) and No. 5 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and de facto NIL ranking of the Top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

Garrett Nussmeier looking to make case for 2026 NFL Draft

Though he had the opportunity to declare for the NFL Draft after the 2024 season, Garrett Nussmeier opted to run it back at LSU in 2025. He also became one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in college football ($1.6 million), On3’s Pete Nakos reported.

In two games this season, Nussmeier has completed 54/79 passes for 469 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. LSU‘s No. 3 ranking is its highest since Dec. 2019.

Jordan Rodgers was supremely impressed with Nussmeier in week one after he led LSU to a 17-10 win over Clemson on the road. The SEC Network analyst revealed that he thinks that the Tigers’ star quarterback is the cream of the crop in college football

“I saw the best quarterback in the country—the most NFL-ready quarterback—because of what he did at the line of scrimmage,” Rodgers stated, via ‘Get Up‘ last week. “He controlled protections, adjusted plays, and managed everything pre-snap. Under pressure, he was brilliant: five of six for 52 yards, four first downs, and only one sack.

“Most importantly, he protected the football. That was his Achilles’ heel last year, when he threw too many interceptions in bunches. Now, he’s showing elite arm talent and elite anticipation, which were on full display.

“Honestly, that was probably just a B-minus game from him—against the number four team in the country—and he still got it done. That bodes really well for Garrett. I think he’s the best quarterback in the country right now.”

Nussmeier and his Tigers will be back in action Saturday night at home against Florida. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET kick.
