Oklahoma, Sonic Drive-In agree to landmark on-field sponsorship at Love's Field
The No. 1 ranked Oklahoma softball team and Sonic Drive-in announced a landmark sponsorship deal to prominently feature the restaurants’ iconic logo on Love’s Field. The deal was done in partnership with Learfield’s Sooner Sports Properties.
The deal makes Oklahoma the first college athletics program to feature an on-field logo sponsorship at a female-only outdoor sports venue, according to the release. The multi-year agreement stipulates the Sonic logo will be painted onto both the first and third baselines of Love’s Field and will debut for Friday’s SEC opener versus South Carolina.
“We’re thrilled to enter into this historic partnership with SONIC and showcase its brand alongside Oklahoma Softball,” OKlahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione said in the release. “Oklahoma Softball is a powerhouse program with a storied history of success, and this agreement will enhance our ability to continue building on that legacy. SONIC’s support of our student-athletes and commitment to the state of Oklahoma makes this partnership even more special.”
As part of the partnership with Oklahoma, Sonic will support NIL (name, image and likeness) opportunities with the Sooners softball players. No specific deals have yet been shared.

“It’s important to SONIC to be a good neighbor in our community and be involved in education and athletics across the state. We are incredibly proud to support Oklahoma Softball and continue to strengthen our relationship with the University of Oklahoma,” Sonic integrated marketing communications manager Leah Fogel said in a statement. “Oklahoma’s softball team exemplifies a lot of the characteristics that we try to bring to our SONIC culture every day, and this partnership gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate the success of one of the most dominant teams in college softball. We’re excited to see our logo on the field where so much excellence takes place.”
Sonic has been the official quick service restaurant sponsor of Sooner athletics since the Summer 2024 and also serves as the official T-shirt toss sponsor for multiple Oklahoma sports, including baseball, football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s gymnastics, soccer, volleyball and wrestling.
“As women’s sports continue to rise in visibility and impact, we’re excited to work closely with OU Athletics to identify emerging sponsorship opportunities that drive incremental revenue for Oklahoma Athletics and increase brand visibility for our partners,” added Kelly Collyar, the vice president and general manager of Sooner Sports Properties.
