More details continue to come out from the wild situation regarding former NFL quarterback and current FOX Sports analyst Mark Sanchez. Sanchez was stabbed and later arrested during an alleged altercation that took place early Saturday morning between him and a food delivery driver.

TMZ, which first broke the story, reported later Saturday evening that it had obtained the 911 dispatch audio from the moments after the incident occurred. It took place outside a bar in downtown Indianapolis around 12:30 a.m. ET.

The calls shows that first responders reacted quickly, making their way to the scene once there was word of a stabbing. One man told the rest of the group to lock down the bar where the altercation occurred, letting no one in or out.

Police also discussed whether there were any cameras in the area to give themselves a better picture of what had happened. Word arrived that a man, later identified as Sanchez, was in critical condition from the stab wound.

Another part of the audio showed that police said two people had been stabbed. TMZ reported that this lines up with officer statements, which said one person suffered stab wounds while the other had lacerations.

According to Angela Ganote of FOX 59 in Indianapolis, Sanchez was “not cooperative” when police arrived on the scene early Saturday morning. Ganote reported that, according to the police narrative, Sanchez told the delivery driver he needed to move his car from where it was parked.

Things escalated from there, with the man claiming that Sanchez followed him and eventually began attacking him. The man said he used pepper spray at first, but after that didn’t work, he defended himself with a knife against Sanchez. Police noted that the man had a significant injury on his face.

Sanchez was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery and is considered in stable condition. Police announced later that he had been arrested on charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication.

Sanchez was supposed to be on the call for Sunday’s game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts. However, in light of the recent events, it was reported that Brady Quinn will take his place on the broadcast.

Mark Sanchez played 10 years in the NFL after becoming the No. 5 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft out of USC. He joined FOX as an analyst in 2021.
