The Baltimore Ravens have pulled Lamar Jackson in light of a hamstring injury in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Ravens trailed 30-13 at the end of the third quarter when Jackson was taken out of the game.

Cooper Rush entered in his place and will likely finish out the game unless something changes. At the time he exited the game, Jackson had completed 14-of-20 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown with one interception. He had also rushed for 48 yards.

“I’ve been watching Lamar down here to see if he’s OK for a little while,” sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson said on the broadcast. “I can tell you he’s extremely frustrated. Jim Harbaugh came over to see if he is OK. I got word that it is a hamstring injury and he is questionable to return.”

Ultimately, Jackson never returned as the Ravens would go on to lose 37-20. Rush finished 9-of-13 passing for 52 yards after coming in to finish out the game.

His status will be something to monitor heading into next week, but the fact that he was questionable to return suggests it had more to do with the score at the time than anything serious. Entering Sunday’s contest, Lamar Jackson had thrown for 722 yards and nine touchdowns with no interceptions through the first three games of this season. He had also rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown.

The two-time MVP will hope to get back soon, as it’s been a rough start to the season for Baltimore. The Ravens are off to just a 1-3 start after entering the year as a Super Bowl contender following three straight playoffs appearances.

That will make Jackson’s return even more important. Baltimore has a matchup against the Houston Texans awaiting it in Week 5.

New update emerges on Lamar Jackson’s hamstring per report

There are mixed updates on Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who suffered a hamstring injury in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Jackson suffered a hamstring strain in the game and will be evaluated on Monday. However, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh didn’t reveal much about the severity of Jackson’s injury.

“I don’t have any updates on the seriousness,” Harbaugh said about Jackson and other injured Ravens players. “It doesn’t look like it’s season-ending by any stretch for any of those guys.” Harbaugh also said that he didn’t have an answer for whether Jackson could have returned if the game was close.

ESPN NFL insider Jeff Darlington shared what he saw from Lamar Jackson after the game. “Watching Lamar slowly limp to the team buses after the game, I’d have a hard time believing he could have entered the game, even if it was closer,” Darlington wrote on X/Twitter. “Not to suggest any level of seriousness… but his exit was clearly more than precautionary.”
