Florida leads the all-time series against Tennessee 32-22. In recent years, the Volunteers have closed the series gap after the Gators dominated the early decades of the rivalry.

Tennessee won last season’s meeting, a 23-17 overtime win in Knoxville in 2024, snapping Florida’s streak in the rivalry. The Gators had previously won the last five matchups before last season.

That win was on the way to Tennessee’s College Football Playoff run last season, and improved the Volunteers to 5-1 at the time. The loss would drop Florida to 3-3 at the home. However, the Gators would regroup and finished the 2024 season with an 8-5 record after winning their final four games of the season. That included a win over Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl.

One season later, and the Gators will spend its immediate postseason searching for its next head coach. Meanwhile, Tennessee suffered its third loss of the season on Nov. 1 against Oklahoma at home. Only time will tell if the Vols can find their way back into the College Football Playoff picture for a second season.
