Jalon Daniels was way under the radar in high school. After two years at Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne, Daniels transferred to Lawndale (Calif.) High. He led the team to the state title as a junior and then had a great senior season. However, he did not have any Power Five offers. That was until Kansas offered at the last minute, and Daniels backed off his Middle Tennessee commitment and flipped to the Jayhawks. Daniels started six games as a true freshman. He backed up North Texas transfer Jason Bean in 2021 before starting the final three games of the season, including Kansas’ monumental upset of Texas. Daniels is the son of Star Daniels. His stepfather is Tyrone Dubois-Daniels. He is planning to major in computer engineering. Daniels is young for his class and was just 17 years old at the start of his true freshman year.
