2027 OL Shavezz Dixon backs off his commitment to Ole Miss
In September, Shavezz Dixon committed to the Ole Miss Rebels. After Lane Kiffin decided to leave and take the head coaching job at LSU, the 2027 offensive lineman out of Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County has backed off that pledge.
He still has interest in Ole Miss, but he wants to see how Pete Golding fills the staff out and what type of relationships are established.
For now, the 6-foot-4, 305-pounder will take a step back and explore his options.
“I’m going to look at Texas A&M, UCF, Arkansas, Memphis, Pittsburgh and USF a lot more now,” Dixon told Rivals. “I had a good relationship with the former USF head coach, coach Golesh, so hopefully I’ll receive that offer from Auburn soon after this.”
During the season, Dixon visited Oxford for multiple games. He also saw games at Auburn and Texas A&M.

Dixon is big on relationships. When he committed to Ole Miss, John Garrison was a big part of that.
“Coach Garrison is a great offensive line coach with so much knowledge of the game,” Dixon said when he committed to Ole Miss. “He actually reminds me a lot of my high school coach, and that was big in my decision. He likes how I play physical and nasty on the offensive line, and he was really excited when I told him I was committing on Wednesday.”
Over 20 schools have offered the No. 30 interior lineman in the country.
