4-star IOL Kevin Brown decommits from Penn State

Harrisburg (Pa.) four-star interior offensive lineman Kevin Brown has decommitted from Penn State, he announced on Sunday.
One of the longest-tenured commits in the Nittany Lions’ 2026 class, he’s now officially re-opened things after head coach James Franklin was relieved of his duties and other schools gauged interest this fall. Brown was committed since July 27, 2024.
Ohio State and West Virginia are the two programs that’ve been after Brown the hardest down the stretch. He took an official visit to Morgantown last month and was in Columbus at the beginning of November. WVU is now trending in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Brown is the No. 70 overall prospect and No. 3 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania and was at the top of the PSU class.

“I can’t believe they fired him. But it’s a business,” Brown told Rivals’ Greg Smith after news broke that Franklin was out in Happy Valley.
Brown had previously never wavered on his commitment to the in-state school, but is now one of many who are looking elsewhere with National Signing Day less than three weeks out. PSU is now down to 13 commits this cycle.
Scout’s Take on Kevin Brown
Rivals National Scout Cody Bellaire wrote this of Brown after getting a look at the senior’s tape this fall:
“Brown had primarily been lined up as an H-back for Harrisburg (Pa.) High, but as a senior he has been working at right tackle, left tackle, tight end, and as an H-back. Brown has proven thus far that he has the athletic ability and play strength to not only function in the pass and run games as a blocker, but excel. Similar to what we were able to see from him in the camp setting, Brown’s tenacity and ability to finish pops off the screen. He plays mean and lets every defender on the field feel his presence throughout the entirety of the game.”
