Arkansas loses a commitment from OT Ben Mubenga

The foundation of Arkansas‘s 2026 recruiting class is beginning to crack in the aftermath of Sam Pittman’s firing.
Another decommitment just fell.
Three-star OT Ben Mubenga backed off his pledge to the Razorbacks just days after the change made at head coach in Fayetteville.
“Honestly, it’s because of Coach Pittman,” Mubenga told Rivals on his decision to reopen his recruitment.
“I don’t know if Coach (Eric) Mateos is going to stay,” he continued. “Him leaving took me by surprise. The plan he had for me is out the window now.”

Since Pittman was dismissed, the Razorbacks have lost commitments from 2026 recruits like JJ Bush, Caleb Gordon, Keymian Harris, and now, Mubenga.
Mubenga is the Rivals Industry Ranking’s No. 86 OT in the class out of Peach State powerhouse Buford (Ga.) High School.
Maryland, Florida State, N.C. State and Missouri have been in contact with Mubenga leading into his decommitment from Arkansas.
