Four-star CB Amare Nugent is commit No. 1 for Florida in the 2027 class

American Heritage four-star 2027 cornerback Amare Nugent has committed to Florida following a visit to Gainesville for the junior day.

Nugent becomes commit No. 1 for head coach Jon Sumrall and the new Gators staff.

“The coaching staff and the relationship with them,” Nugent said of his commitment.

Rivals ranks the 6-foot, 170-pound Nugent as the nation’s No. 14 cornerback and No. 170 prospect overall. He is fired up about the future of this program.

“The culture excites me about Florida,” Nugent said this week.

As a junior Nugent had 27 tackles, two interceptions and two more passes defended.
