Rivals 4-star QB Tayden Kaawa locks in commitment date

The recruitment of Orem (Utah) High four-star quarterback Tayden Kaawa has been a quiet one, with only one official visit to Alabama last month.
But the process is coming to an end. On Sunday, Kaawa told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong that he will announce his commitment tomorrow, July 21. He doesn’t have a list of finalists but holds offers from the Crimson, Tide, BYU, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, UCF and a host of others.
BYU and Boise State have both made strong pushes, with the Cougars first offering him back in April 2023. Fast forward more than two years, and both the Broncos and Tide offered him. Alabama made him one of their top priorities this summer though, looking to add him to a class that already features four-star Jett Thomalla, who flipped from Iowa State in June.
Coming out of his official visit to Tuscaloosa, Kaawa had the Tide as his top school.
“I’d say it would be Alabama because I know how the development is there,” Kaawa told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “I know how they put players in the NFL.”
