Each Monday, we’ll take a look at where things stand in the Big 12 statistical leaderboards. The numbers show who’s setting the pace across the league while also showing where West Virginia players fall in the mix.

In rushing, BYU’s LJ Martin leads the way, but WVU’s Tye Edwards checks in at No. 22 with 141 yards and three scores. At quarterback, Nicco Marchiol ranks 14th in passing and 15th in total offense, giving the Mountaineers steady production even if he isn’t near the top. Cam Vaughn cracks the receiving list at No. 19 with 214 yards and a touchdown.

On special teams, Oliver Straw is 13th in punting average but among the league’s busiest with 25 attempts, while kicker Kade Hensley sits 12th in field goals after connecting on four of his first five tries.

Defensively, Fred Perry is 18th in tackles and tied for 20th in sacks, while Darrian Lewis ranks 5th in interceptions. Linebacker Chase Wilson has stood out most, tied for 2nd in sacks and 11th in tackles for loss, while also showing up in the interception column.

The full lists of the Big 12’s top 10 leaders in each category are below, followed by where WVU players land further down.
