Alabama BOT to consider contracts for Kalen DeBoer, Nate Oats
The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees compensation committee will meet on Monday, March 18, to consider new contracts for Crimson Tide director of athletics Greg Byrne and men’s basketball head coach Nate Oats, it was announced Friday afternoon.
The compensation committee approved a new contract for Oats on Feb. 3, 2023, that paid him $4.5 million this year and was set to increase by $200,000 each year through the 2028-29 campaign. On Monday, all three of Oats’ assistant coaches – Austin Claunch, Preston Murphy and Ryan Pannone – will have new athletic contracts considered, too.
As for the football side, the board of trustees will also consider contracts for Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer, his 10 on-field assistant coaches, special teams senior analyst Jay Nunez, general manager Courtney Morgan and director of sports performance David Ballou.
