Florida State took Alabama’s previous spot at No. 4 at handing LSU a lopsided 45-24 loss on Sunday night. Clemson also dropped 16 spots from No. 9 to 25 after losing to Duke.

Texas, who Alabama will play this Saturday, still sits at No. 11 in the AP Poll. The Longhorns climbed one spot into the top 10 of the Coaches Poll, but that sentiment wasn’t shared by media voters. Still, this weekend’s showdown is expected to be epic with both programs fighting to position themselves for a College Football Playoff spot later this year.
