TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama football team is less than 24 hours from taking the field for the annual Golden Flake A-Day Game. Kickoff for the spring game is set for 2 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

On Friday afternoon, the Tide announced the entire rosters for both the Crimson and White squads. As Nick Saban mentioned to the media on Thursday, the setup with be the first-team offense taking on the first-team defense, second offense against second team and so on.

“A-Day, the format for A-Day is gonna be very similar to what it’s been in the past,” the Alabama coach said. “The first offense is on one team with the second defense. The first defense is on the other team with the second offense. So the ones play against the ones and the twos play against the twos. I’ve done this A-Day Game like 15 different ways, and you get mismatches in the game that can ruin the game. So this is the best way that the good players play against the good players.”

From a watch-ability and entertainment standpoint, this seems to be the most effective way to run a spring game. Players will be facing off against others with a similar talent level.
