TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After Alabama’s A-Day Game on Saturday, which saw the offense top the defense, 34-28, there was hardware handed out on the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer presented 16 awards to numerous Crimson Tide players after the final practice of the spring, which included the spring game’s most valuable player (Jam Miller) and the most valuable lineman (Tyler Booker). Both players received the honors, which were voted on by reporters in attendance, in front of a crowd of 72,358 Alabama fans.

“Never had an MVP before, but I really appreciate it,” Miller said after the game. “… Playing in a big crowd like that, I try to block out all the noise and just focus on the gain – trying to score and trying to make the offense win.”

Booker added, “It’s an honor I feel like I worked for. I feel like I definitely deserved it. I put my position to receive that award just by the way I come to work every day. I refuse to be outworked. I owe it to myself to work this hard because I haven’t come this far just to come this far. It’s a great award, but I’m gonna get many more team awards this year, individual awards.

“It’s great to be recognized by my coaches as the top offensive lineman, but I’m working to be recognized as the top offensive lineman in the entire country and then be recognized as the best team in the entire country. So a lot more goals ahead.”
