TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s 2024 A-Day Game will look a little different.

Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed on Thursday that the roster would not be split up into teams, but rather the spring game will pit the offense against the defense. Alabama will still be broken up into Crimson and White teams, but the Crimson team will feature all defensive players, while the White squad will be guys on the offensive side.

DeBoer explained the reasoning behind that after Thursday’s penultimate spring practice.

“Format for the spring game will be an offense versus defense,” DeBoer said. “We won’t have divided teams for a couple reasons. No. 1, I like to look at it as practice No. 15. We’ll see a lot of scrimmaging out there, but it’s a chance for us to get better.

“It’s a chance for us to take the next step. A chance for us to evaluate, as well. And so try to really get down to the bare bones of playing some football.”

With the scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium being offense versus defense, the biggest question is how will we know who wins. Alabama shared the scoring system on Saturday.

OFFENSE

Touchdown – 6 points
Extra point – 1 point
Field goal – 3 points

DEFENSE
