Alabama issues final player availability report for Vanderbilt game

Alabama Football issued its final availability report before its matchup with Vanderbilt.

There were no surprises on the Crimson Tide side of things. Lineback Jah-Marien Latham (neck) and defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman (knee) will miss the remainder of Alabama’s 2025-26 season, while linebacker Qua Russaw (foot) will miss “an extended amount of time.”

Defensive lineman James Smith will miss the first half of the game due to a targeting penalty he received in the second half at Georgia. He’ll be able to return at the start of the third quarter.

No. 10 Alabama (3-1, 1-0 SEC) will take on No. 16 Vanderbilt (5-0, 1-0) today at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The SEC matchup is scheduled to kick off at 2:45 p.m. CT and air live on ABC.

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

In football, prior to a Saturday football game, an institution must issue the Initial Report on Wednesday by 7 p.m. CT and update the Availability Report once per day on Thursday and Friday (after the conclusion of practice and before 7 p.m.). These updated reports will be referred to as the “Thursday Update” and “Friday Update.”

On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time. On the Game Day Update, the only permissible designation statuses are:

• Available – Will dress for the game and be available to play

• Game Time Decision – Coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the athlete in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game

• Out – Not dressing or available for the game
