Counting down the Alabama roster three players at a time. Next up for the 2023 series: defensive linemen Tim Keenan III, Monkell Goodwine and Edric Hill.

96 DL Tim Keenan III

2022: As a redshirt freshman, Kennan saw action in two games. In debut against Louisiana-Monroe, nose tackle recorded first tackle — and half tackle for loss — of UA career. Also appeared against Vanderbilt.

Of note: In April’s A-Day game, Keenan opened the scrimmage between ends Jamil Burroughs and Damon Payne in a big nickel front. Recorded two tackles in the spring game. Both stops resulted in no gain. Helped limit Crimson team running backs Jam Miller and Justice Haynes to a combined 47 rushing yards on 18 carries. Recipient of the Bart Starr Most Improved Player Award at the close of spring drills. The 338-pound Keenan will provide support to Jaheim Oatis on the nose in base and nickel looks and could factor into short yardage/goal line situations.

95 DL Monkell Goodwine

2022: After seeing the field in two games as a true freshman, Goodwine appeared in one contest (Auburn) during his second season in the program. Checked in at left end late in the Crimson Tide’s 49-27 win over the Tigers.

Of note: As a member of the Crimson defense in the A-Day game, Goodwine worked at both end and tackle in the nickel. Pressured White team quarterbacks on occasion both from the edge and on the interior. In fact, after combining with edge Keanu Koht to flush Jalen Milroe from the pocket, Goodwine should have been credited with a sack. On the play, Goodwine displayed twitch and power, getting off the snap quickly before using a rip move to split left guard Darrian Dalcourt and center Seth McLaughlin.

94 DL Edric Hill

2022: According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Hill checked in as the No. 17 defensive line prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Posted 18 tackles for loss and nine sacks during his senior season at North Kansas City (Mo.) High School. Enrolled at Alabama in January and participated in 2023 spring drills.

Of note: Early enrollee repped in with the White (second-team) defense on A-Day. Solid initial strike of center James Brockermeyer before making a stop of Haynes in the third quarter. Requisite measurables needed for rotational spot in the future. Developmental year in the way of technique and sports science likely on tap.

Previous: 99 Hastings; 98 Burroughs; 97 Perry
