Alabama's Will Reichard becomes NCAA's all-time leader in points

ATLANTA – Alabama placekicker Will Reichard is the NCAA’s all-time points leader.

With his 43-yard field goal in the first quarter against No. 1 Georgia, Reichard passed Navy’s Keenan Reynolds (530) to take over full possession the top spot on the NCAA’s career list for points. The Hoover, Ala., native entered Saturday’s SEC Championship Game in Atlanta tied for the record and now stands alone at the top with 533 points in his 58th career game.

Reichard already owns the Crimson Tide’s career record for made extra points. He entered the weekend having made 290-of-292 PATs. The fifth-year senior recorded nine PATs against ULM on Sept. 17, 2022, to move past Adam Griffith (186) for first place. Reichard also ranks second on Alabama’s career list for field goals with 80, trailing Leigh Tiffin’s 83 from 2006-09.

“I don’t know if anybody’s had a more productive career relative to what their role is,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said, “what their job is, what they’re supposed to in terms of his consistency, his performance, the way he’s improved through the years, mindset, his leadership and how he affects the other specialists on our team and how he’s helped them to develop. 

“Will’s been a great asset to this organization for a long time and done his job about as well as anyone can expect somebody to do it.”
