Saturday’s Reese’s Senior Bowl saw ups and downs for the four Georgia Bulldogs on hand this week in Mobile, Ala.

Running back Kenny McIntosh touched the ball three times for 15 yards in the first half before an injury kept him out of the second half. Offensive lineman Warren McClendon did not participate in the game at all after participating in practice all week less than three weeks removed from being a passenger in the car crash that killed teammate Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy.

Safety Christopher Smith and kicker Jack Podlesny were full participants in the action having their own ups and downs with Smith totaling four tackles and Podlesny going 1-for-2 on the day. He made a 35-yarder and missed from 29 yards out.

Highlights

Kenny McIntosh rips off a 4-yard run, picking up a first down in the process, and was on the receiving end of a 6-yard pass from TCU quarterback Max Duggan. He also had a 5-yard rush on his other carry.

Jack Podlesny got the American squad on the board with three points in the second quarter. It was the team’s only points until a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Next up for all of Georgia’s potential draftees – not just the seniors – is the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. That will take place Tuesday, February 28 through Monday, March 6.

Georgia had a record 15 players picked in the 2022 NFL Draft including five first rounders – all on the defensive side of the football. While the Bulldogs’ projected highest draft pick is indeed on the defensive side of the ball – Jalen Carter – Georgia could have a couple of offensive players having their name called on night one as well. Broderick Jones and Darnell Washington have been projected by some to be first round picks, as have Kelee Ringo and Nolan Smith.

For those that don’t hear their names called on night one, the draft isn’t over then. All four of the Senior Bowl participants plus a couple of others including Stetson Bennett, Kearis Jackson, Warren Ericson and Robert Beal are more likely to get their names called then than on night one.

The NFL Draft is set for Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29th in Union Station in Kansas City, airing on ESPN, ABC and NFL Network. The Chicago Bears hold the first selection after finishing the 2022 season 3-14, worst in the NFL.
