Way-too-early mock drafts, big boards give idea of Georgia Bulldogs to know for 2025

While we’re a long way away from knowing the draft order for 2025, it’s pretty clear who some of the top prospects might be a year in advance. If you take a look back on way-too-early mocks this time last year, oftentimes they aren’t far off from how things played out over the past couple of days, and the early projections for next year have a few Georgia players off the board early.

Considered a contender for the No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Carson Beck is a popular projection. Both the AP and USA Today have him going in the top spot while CBS Sports believes Beck will be a top-10 pick.

“Unlike this point last year with Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, there’s no quarterback out there who looks to be a surefire top-five pick. Beck, however, might be the front-runner to be the highest signal-caller taken – and therefore in the mix for No. 1,” Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz (USA Today) wrote about Beck, projecting him to the New York Giants with the first overall pick. “The 6-4, 220-pound passer stepped into his first year as a starter and took command, throwing for 3,941 yards while completing nearly 73% of his passes.”

Beck won’t be the only Bulldog off the board early either. In fact, some don’t even have him as the first. CBS Sports has EDGE Mykel Williams going before him while the AP thinks there’s a chance the teammates go first and second overall.

“The previous time teammates went 1-2 in the draft was in 2000 — Penn State did it (Courtney Brown and LaVar Arrington),” Ralph Russo (AP) noted. “Williams is the breakout star of another dominant Georgia defense.”

“Mykel Williams is a powerful pass rusher with positional versatility, excellent size and still has room to improve in pass coverage as he continues to mature,” added Ryan Wilson (CBS Sports).

Safety Malaki Starks, linebacker Smael Mondon, offensive lineman Earnest Greene and defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse are among the others that have popped up as first round picks in the various mock drafts out there. A selection of Starks, Mondon or Stackhouse would bolster the numbers Kirby Smart has put up on the defensive side of the ball with 10 first round selections during his time at Georgia while Greene would give an offensive tackle taken on the opening night for a third straight year.

Of course, way-too-early mock drafts aren’t the only way to assess who the top Dawgs in 2025 might be. Folks at Pro Football Focus and The Draft Network put together a big board already with their best available prospects.

Carson Beck – No. 11 (PFF) / No. 8 (TDN)
Malaki Starks – No. 14 (PFF) / No. 28 (TDN)
Mykel Williams – No. 41 (TDN)
Oscar Delp – No. 53 (TDN)

Finally, there’s the eye test of those that watch the team closely. Georgia players that passed on the draft this year are likely to be among those hearing their name called next year. It may not be during the first round, and that’s as far as any of these mocks go. However, as we know, there’s more to the draft than just the first 32 picks, and guys like Tate Ratledge, Dominic Lovett, Warren Brinson and a couple of the newcomers too – Colbie Young, Ben Yurosek, Trevor Etienne – would be worth keeping an eye on as potential draft prospects for 2025.
