It’s officially draft week in the NFL. Come Thursday, players from all across the College Football landscape will start to find their new homes. Last year that happened in record breaking fashion for the Georgia Bulldogs with 15 players picked. It won’t be quite that many this year, but Kirby Smart’s crew still should be well represented in the selections taking place over the course of three days in Kansas City.

With double-digit Georgia players expected to be picked, DawgsHQ prepares you by taking a look back on their respective collegiate careers with our Georgia Draft Profile series. We continue with the team leader in rushing yards this past season and a prominent part of the passing game too, running back Kenny McIntosh.

Kenny McIntosh

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 204 pounds

Arms / Hands: 30 1/2 inches / 9 inches

High School / Hometown: University School / Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

On3 Industry Ranking (2019): No. 194 overall, No. 14 running back, No. 25 in state of Florida

Georgia running back Kenny McIntosh grew up a ton during his collegiate career. Coming in just a class behind Zamir White and James Cook – two of the country’s top running backs in the Class of 2018 – and while D’Andre Swift and Brian Herrien were still on roster, the path to playing time wasn’t clear. Swift and Herrien were gone after one, and then, it was time to shine – as a pass catcher.

McIntosh earned his way onto the field by being the best option out of the backfield in the passing game. That was proven to be the case this past season when McIntosh led Georgia in rushing while also finishing top three in receiving behind only Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey. McIntosh ran it 150 times for 829 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added 43 catches for 504 more yards and another two scores, making him the top Bulldog in total yardage besides Stetson Bennett.

McIntosh twice set a career-high in rushing this past season. In what Kirby Smart described as a “pissed off” performance after a fumble, McIntosh ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns in Georgia’s win over his home-state team, Florida. Then, less than a month later, he had 143 yards on the road at Kentucky. McIntosh found the end zone at least once in nine of 15 games this past season after having that amount of touchdowns over the course of his entire career up to that point previously.

Projections for McIntosh vary. He’s been seen as high as a Day 2 pick and as low as a final round selection. No matter how hard it is to pin down where he’ll fall, the team he lands with is getting the latest Georgia back in what’s become a long line of successful Dawgs in the NFL out of RBU.
