ATHENS, Ga. — The SEC announced its approved scheduling format for 2025 on Wednesday, and with that, Georgia knows its opponents and locations already. A full schedule of dates will be announced at a later time, but the Bulldogs will play the same teams in opposite locations as its 2024 conference slate.

As a result, Georgia will host Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Texas in 2025 with road trips to Auburn, Mississippi State and Tennessee on the schedule as well. UGA’s annual matchup with Florida is still set for Jacksonville that season with the Gators acting as the home team.

“We continue to monitor changes across college sports as they relate to future scheduling,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey shared in a release from the conference sent out Wednesday afternoon. “Continuing with our current format for the 2025 season provides additional time to understand the impact of the changes happening around us as we determine the appropriate long-term plan for SEC football scheduling.”

The format was approved by a vote of the SEC Presidents and Chancellors last week following a recommendation from the league’s Athletics Directors. Like the 2024 season, the 2025 campaign will still feature a divisionless format with the top two teams in the 16-team SEC playing for the conference title in Atlanta.

Along with the eight SEC games, each team will be required to play an opponent from a power conference as well. That’s the case in 2024 with Georgia taking on Clemson in a neutral site battle – plus the annual rivalry weekend date with Georgia Tech – and the Bulldogs have it covered for 2025 too with a road trip set to UCLA on August 30th.

In fact, Georgia has all four non-conference opponents set for 2025 with dates determined already. Austin Peay and Charlotte will come to Sanford Stadium on September 6th and November 22nd respectively. UGA will then close the season in Atlanta against Georgia Tech on November 29th.

Opponents and locations for Georgia beyond 2025 include the following: UCLA (2026 – Athens), Louisville (2026 – Louisville, 2027 – Athens), Florida State (2027 – Tallahassee, 2028 – Athens), Clemson (2029 – Clemson, 2030 – Athens, 2032 – Athens, 2033 – Clemson), Ohio State (2030 – Athens, 2031 – Columbus) and N.C. State (2033 – Athens, 2034 – Raleigh). Western Kentucky (2026), Florida A&M (2028), North Carolina A&T (2030) and Western Carolina (2031) will also make trips to the Classic City for currently agreed upon non-conference matchups.

Georgia and Georgia Tech are scheduled to play every season at alternating locations with Athens hosting in even-numbered years and Atlanta in odd-numbered ones.
