RB Tanner West shares thoughts on Kansas State commitment

Kansas State has landed 12 commits in the 2026 class during the month. The first came June 1 when running back Tanner West made the call for the Wildcats. His pledge came just after an official visit to Manhattan May 29.
“It was so surreal and amazing,” he said. “Everyone jumped out of their seats and cheered with excitement. It was awesome and a childhood dream fulfilled. So exciting.”
There were multiple factors as to why West chose K-State.
“The coaching staff, the plan they had for me, the winning culture, the players, the campus, the education, the town and my family all played a big part,” he divulged. “They plan to use me in lots of different ways like Dylan Edwards and Deuce Vaughn.”
His visit to Kansas State checked all of his boxes.
“The visit was great,” West answered. “I loved the culture there. The coaches were great and genuine with a plan for me in their head. I loved all the players and our interactions, too. The facility is awesome. I loved every part of it.”
“The best part was being able to hang around the players and see what they are all about,” he added. “I loved getting to know them and their personalities. They all spoke very high of the program.”

K-State freshman quarterback Dillon Duff was the host for West on his trip to The Little Apple. Duff enrolled early in January after being a 2025 signee. He and West made a good connection on the visit.
“He was amazing,” West shared. “I related to him a lot. He showed me what K-State is all about.”
West was one of 14 prospects in Manhattan during his official visit, and he was able to connect with some other prospects while on campus.
“I connected with Tucker Ashford, Keegan Collins, and Miles Teodecki the most,” he pointed out. “They were great. They were good people. I could be good friends with all of them.”
Collins and Teodecki have since also committed to Kansas State.
West has a message for other recruits considering the Wildcats.
“It is the place to be,” he stated. “There is no better coaching staff, culture, facilities or player-led program in the country.”
