WINNERS

1) CHRIS KLIEMAN: The win over Iowa State has to feel good for the Kansas State head coach after falling to the Cyclones the last two seasons.

2) TCU: Who predicted TCU would be 5-0 to begin the season? Defeating Kansas sets up a massive game next Saturday against Oklahoma State in Fort Worth.

3) JOSH HAYES: Why not another representative of K-State? Josh Hayes was seemingly everywhere against Iowa State and even tallied eight tackles in the first quarter. But the Kansas State safety saved his best tackle for last when tracking down Jaylin Noel for a gain of three on a play that could have been an explosive one for the Cyclones. He also wore a great outfit to the post game presser.

4)  UCLA: Chip Kelly might have it figured out in Los Angeles. UCLA is now 6-0 and are coming off a very impressive win over Utah. Looking at their schedule, at least 10 wins may be in the cards for the Bruins.

5) ADRIAN: How good has Adrian Martinez been for K-State in conference play? It wasn’t always perfect at times, but Martinez and the offense did just enough to knock off Iowa State. Martinez threw for the most yards he’s had as a Wildcat with 246 and added 77 yards on the ground against a terrific run defense.

LOSERS

1) STATE OF IOWA: Iowa and Iowa State did not score a touchdown on Saturday night and both lost. That has to hurt.

2) SOONERS: Speaking of pain, Oklahoma was the only team that was shut out in college football yesterday. The 49-0 whooping Texas applied to the Sooners made it the first time in school history that Oklahoma had lost two consecutive games by 30 or more points. And they allowed 41 to Kansas State in their Big 12 opener.

3) BRYAN HARSIN: Bryan Harsin is expected to be dismissed after a 42-10 loss by Auburn to Georgia.

4) MICHIGAN STATE: The Spartans are in total free fall mode after starting 2-0. They’ve dropped their last four games and can’t stop anyone from scoring. At least they didn’t sign their head coach to a $95 million fully guaranteed deal this past offseason. Oh wait. Mel Tucker will laugh all the way to the bank.

5) STANFORD: In a stat that almost does not sound real, Stanford has not defeated an FBS opponent in 372 days.
