The city of Lexington will be BUZZING this weekend. Not every Kentucky football fan is eager to fly directly into the hornet’s nest. There are still a couple of ways to see the Wildcats outside of Central Kentucky this weekend.

Before he goes under center, Devin Leary is taking the mound. The Wildcat quarterback will be throwing at the first pitch before Saturday’s Cincinnati Reds game. The Redlegs will host the Brewers at 4:10 pm tomorrow.

One of the hottest teams in baseball, members of The 15 Club can get discounted tickets to watch Leary in action. You’ll also get a Joey Votto bobblehead as the Reds’ salute their aging star.

On Friday two Kentucky football players will be traveling to Eastern Kentucky to meet some of the BBN’s best. JJ Weaver and Kenneth Horsey will be appearing at the Poke Sallet Festival in downtown Harlan to sign autographs, take pictures with fans and hang out for the evening.

Horsey is taking his talents to Harlan ahead of his fourth season as a starter on the Big Blue Wall. He underwent open heart surgery as a high school senior and now has a chance to set the school record for most career starts on the offensive line. Incredible. He won the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Award a year before JJ Weaver took home the honor. The EDGE who calls Louisville home has persevered through injury and heartache to put himself in a position to hear his name called in the NFL Draft if he can put together another exceptional season in 2023.

The Poke Sallet Festival is hosting Horsey from 4-6 pm Friday afternoon. Weaver will tag in from 6-8 pm. You’ll find the Kentucky football players inside the Harlan Center at 201 S. Main Street in downtown Harlan for the 68th Poke Sallet Festival.
