Geralds issued the following statement to The Bengal Tiger.

I’m coming to leave a legacy at this program and bring back the winning tradition they are known for. I also love what the support they give to student-athletes when it comes to NIL brand development.”
The Collins Hill (GA) standout has been a highly recruited lineman and adds to an elite class being built at LSU. Geralds is very familiar with Louisiana, being a native and having strong family ties to the Baton Rouge area.
Georgia Tech made a late push with a significant financial package, and Ole Miss followed suit. However after deep conversation, Geralds remained committed to the Tigers.

Reaction to LSU’s hire of Lane Kiffin
Baton Rouge native Deuce Geralds committed to the Tigers this summer and has remained loyal to that pact even with change swirling in his hometown.
Kiffin and the Rebels were finalists for Geralds, who finished his senior season at the all-time leading sack artist in Georgia high school football history. His father played at Ole Miss.
Those relationships carry weight for Geralds.
“I am excited to not only get to LSU right away, but also get to work. It helps to relax a bit knowing who my head coach will be during my time there,” Geralds told The Bengal Tiger. “I think he brings an edge to LSU that is common to the program. I am ready to win a championship with Coach Kiffin.
